NDA begins shooting exercise in Kaduna, asks residents not to panic

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has urged residents not to panic over its scheduled shooting drills in Kaduna. 

The training is a routine exercise carried out by the military.

The affected areas include Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka. 

Mohammed Maidawa, NDA’s public relations officer, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the exercise is for the army cadets of 73 and 74 regular courses.

“The exercises are scheduled to be held from April 18th to 20th and from April 26th to 27th”, he said.

“The NDA assures the general public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place for the successful conduct of the exercise.

“However, the general public is advised to avoid trespassing in the general area throughout the exercise.”

The shooting exercise is aimed at improving the proficiency of troops in the use of firearms.
