The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2024 senior school certificate examination (SSCE) results for external candidates.
Announcing the results on Friday at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger state, Dantani Wushishi, the council’s registrar, said 57,114 candidates secured five credits and above, including English language and mathematics.
According to Wushishi, the examination recorded a pass rate of 67.35 percent.
He noted that 86,067 candidates registered for the exams, which were conducted between November 14 and December 14, 2024.

He said the results showed that 62,929 candidates (75.62 percent) obtained credit and above in English, while 77,988 candidates (93.93 percent) achieved the same in Mathematics.
Wushishi added that 70,711 candidates (83.39 percent) earned five credits and above in any subjects, irrespective of English and Mathematics.
On examination malpractice, the registrar said 6,160 candidates were booked for infractions, marking a 27.7 percent decline from the 2023 figures.

He said seven supervisors were recommended for blacklisting due to poor supervision and lateness, while 14 centres—10 in Ogun and four in Oyo—were blacklisted for widespread malpractice.
