Newly-registered voters get PVCs in Kogi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to newly registered voters in Kogi.

Daniel Kure, head of department (HOD) voter education at INEC office in Lokoja made the announcement during an interview with NAN on Monday.

He said the distribution of PVCs, which commenced on November 14, would continue till November 20, adding that there were over 47, 000 newly registered voters in all the 21 LGAs across the state.

He called on registered voters to visit INEC offices in their various local government areas to collect their PVCs to enable them participate in the November 21 governorship election in the state.

Kure also announced that a meeting of all stakeholders in the election would hold at Riverton Hotel in Lokoja by 10 am on November 17.

He said dignitaries expected at the meeting include: Yakub Mahmood, chairman of INEC; Solomon Arase, inspector-general of police; and Johnson Olawumi, director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
