Newspaper Headlines: 1.5m Nigerians in Italy affected by passport scarcity, says NIDO

The plan of the federal government to solicit more loans, which will increase the country’s public debt, appeared on the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the federal government is planning N12 trillion fresh borrowing as public debt is set to hit N50 trillion. Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, said the his administration will continue in its resolve to make the state an oil-producing state, the newspaper says.
The Guardian says weak incomes and inflation are pushing investors away from subscribing to rights issues offered by companies. The newspaper reports that the national assembly is yet to transmit the 2022 budget.
The Nation says the federal government is set to deploy fighter jets against bandits. The newspaper reports that the  Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), Italy chapter, said 1.5 million Nigerians in Italy are affected by passport scarcity.
