Newspaper Headlines: 15 children feared dead in Sokoto boat accident, 25 missing

Reports on the presidential election tribunal and a boat accident in Sokoto dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the presidential election petitions tribunal has given an indication that it would consider the application for the live broadcast of its proceedings. The newspaper says the federal government disclosed that over $200 billion in national assets had been lost to terrorism.
The Nation reports that candidates nominated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the leadership positions of the 10th national assembly have started to rally support for their aspirations. The newspaper says the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said monetary policy alone cannot be used to reset the Nigerian economy.

Daily Independent reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has called for support for the programmes of Adeleke in Osun following the supreme court verdict affirming his election as governor of the state. The newspaper says the Federal Airports Author­ity of Nigeria (FAAN) has directed airline owners and operators to relocate their aircraft from the general aviation terminal (GAT) of the Abuja airport to alternate aerodromes.
