Newspaper Headlines: Adamu bows to pressure, convenes emergency APC NWC meeting

The Punch reports that this year’s rainy season and other weather conditions are likely to cause major disruptions in the country which will affect citizens’ health and infrastructure. The newspaper says Nigerian students stranded due to the ongoing crisis in Sudan have accused the federal government of abandoning them in Khartoum, the country’s capital.
The Nation says the federal government has insisted that the petrol subsidy regime will end in June. The newspaper reports that there are indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is getting close to a consensus on the zoning of principal offices in the 10th national assembly.
Daily Trust reports that senators-elect for the 10th national assembly are mobilising against the plan to make Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, as the next senate president. The newspaper says the federal government has again postponed the 2023 census.

The newspaper says Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the APC, has called for a meeting of the party’s national working committee (NWC).
