Newspaper Headlines: Afreximbank disburses additional $925m under $3.3bn loan for NNPC

The disbursement of $925 million by Afreximbank and the killing of policemen by bandits are among the major stories in the front pages of some dailies.

Punch reports that the federal government has received $925m from Afreximbank to boost the forex market and meet its dollar obligations. The newspaper says George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, has condemned the shutdown of the national grid during the industrial action by organised labour.
Daily Trust reports that bandits killed seven police officers and 35 residents in an attack on villages in Zamfara and Katsina states. The newspaper said the heavy rainstorm on Thursday destroyed more than 100 houses in Jos North and Jos South LGAs of Plateau.
Daily Independent says the federal government has failed to present a new offer and has raised a committee to fine-tune the negotiation of minimum wage with labour. The newspaper reports that the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) rejected the $300 helicopter landing fee, saying it is unjustifiable.
Guardian highlights how homeless kids have invaded the federal capital territory (FCT) and the south-west. The newspaper says troops foiled oil theft worth N91 billion and destroyed 3, 051 dugout pits in one year.
