Newspaper Headlines: Air traffic controllers relocate to mobile tower after Lagos airport fire

Reports on the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal, dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers today.

The Punch reports that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, have rejected Wednesday’s judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal. The newspaper says the federal government has announced an increase in the prices of pre-paid electricity meters. Punch also reports that air traffic controllers at the Murtala Muhammed airport in Lagos have relocated to the mobile tower, after a fire that gutted a section of the complex on Wednesday. 
The Nation reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed its members to resume work today after the conclusion of the two-day warning strike. The newspaper says public outrage has greeted the firing of teargas canisters on students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), who stormed the streets to protest the hike in school fees.
Daily Independent reports that the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) said about 35,000 people have been killed by insurgency in the north-east region of Nigeria. The newspaper says the election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja has declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the winner of the Kogi central senatorial election.
THISDAY reports that Indian investors have assured President Bola Tinubu of their readiness to facilitate a fresh $14 billion investment into Nigeria. The newspaper says the presidential election tribunal ruled that the $460,000 forfeiture by Tinubu is not a criminal conviction.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced key appointments and redeployments within the service after the statutory retirement of some management members of the service. The newspaper says at least five persons escaped death when flood hit the Ureje River bridge in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state.
