Newspaper Headlines: Anxiety, uncertainty ahead of PDP national convention

The uncertainty surrounding the October 30 national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

Nigerian Tribune says there is anxiety in the PDP as the appeal court will decide the suit filed by Uche Secondus, the suspended national chairman of the party, today. The newspaper reports that eight members of the Plateau house of assembly have removed the speaker.
The Punch says some of the 36,000 delegates of the PDP national convention have started arriving at the venue of the convention amid the prevalent uncertainty. The newspaper reports that the construction of the N21 billion Aso Rock clinic will commence in November.
Daily Independent reports that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered 241 houses from one public officer. Daily Sun reports that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has rejected same religion ticket for the 2023 presidential election. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said it has not called for a boycott of the November 6 Anambra governorship election, the newspaper says.
