Newspaper Headlines: Bandits kill 2, abduct 60 in Zamfara attacks

The Punch reports that 11 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have approached the supreme court to challenge the decision of President Bola Tinubu to suspend a democratically elected governor in Rivers. The newspaper says the federal government and  Zulum, governor of Borno, on Tuesday differed over the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks in the north-east state.
Daily Trust reports that bandits attacked several communities in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state, killed two people, and abducted over 60 others in what appears to be retaliation for the recent killing of some of their warlords by security operatives.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the presidency and Ali Ndume, senator representing Borno south, have clashed over the senator’s comment that the appointments of Tinubu have been lopsided. The newspaper says farmers from communities in the Ala area of Akure north LGA of Ondo state, on Tuesday staged a protest against the spate of insecurity in the area.
Vanguard reports that the federal government has indicted traditional rulers in Zamfara over the outbreak of lead poisoning in some communities in the state. The newspaper says Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser, has warned against payment of ransom to terrorists, kidnappers and other criminals.
