The dismissal of the terrorism charges filed against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says there was wild jubilation in the south-east after the court of appeal dismissed the terrorism charges levelled against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The newspaper reports that the Lagos state government has obtained federal government approval for the $2.5 billion Badagry seaport.
The Nation says Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, said arming state security outfits is not enough to end insecurity in the country. The newspaper says a federal high court has acquitted Saminu Turaki, former governor of Jigawa, of N8.3 billion fraud.
Daily Trust reports that el-Rufai said Kaduna state is safer after military bombardment on bandits’ hideouts. The newspaper says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of 12,000 metric tonnes of grains for flood victims.
Daily Sun says Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue, has dared the federal government on the procurement of arms for Benue state security outfit. Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, said it is hypocritical to condemn the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket while backing the northern presidential candidate and national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the newspaper reports.
The Guardian says the decision of the federal government to seek debt relief from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised concerns about the state of the Nigerian economy. The newspaper reports that the donation of 25 new buses to the PDP in Cross River state by Wike has stirred controversy.
