Newspaper Headlines: Court orders forfeiture of $1.4m bribery proceeds linked to Emefiele

Reports on the reintroduction of the old national anthem permeate the frontpages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that President Bola Tinubu said he would soon transmit the 2024 supplementary appropriation bill to the national assembly. The newspaper reports that a federal high court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the interim forfeiture of $1,426,175.14 linked to Godwin Emefiele, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
THISDAY reports that the National Judicial Council (NJC) has proposed an emergency meeting for next week, where John Tsoho, the chief judge of the federal high court, and his counterpart in Kano state, Dije Aboki, would be invited and subjected to serious investigations.
