Newspaper Headlines: Customs intercepts N3.6bn bulletproof jackets, drugs in Ogun

Reports on the acceptance of the N70,000 minimum wage by organised labour dominate the frontpages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the national assembly will get the new minimum wage bill from President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday. The newspaper says officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) intercepted bulletproof vests worth N3.6 billion in Ogun state. 
Daily Trust reports that organised labour has accepted the N70,000 minimum wage offer presented by President Bola Tinubu. The newspaper says the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has resolved to publish the landing cost data of petroleum products daily.
The Nation reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has resumed dollar sales to eligible bureau de change (BDC) operators, with a planned disbursement of $20,000 to each licensee. The newspaper says the reconstruction of the 61-kilometre Sango-Ifo-Abeokuta expressway in Ogun will commence soon.
THISDAY reports that some foreign investors have expressed concerns over a move by the senate to retroactively amend the Finance Act 2023, and impose a one-time windfall tax on banks’ foreign exchange gains realised in their 2023 financial statements. Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar says the national assembly is becoming an “enabler of executive recklessness” following the removal of Ali Ndume, senator representing Borno south, as chief whip of the upper chamber.
