Newspaper Headlines: Death toll from Ibadan stampede hits 40

Reports on the reduction in the ex-depot price of petrol by Dangote refinery, and the probe of the stampede in Ibadan, dominate the frontpages. 

The Punch reports that President Bola Tinubu has ordered an investigation into the stampede that occurred during a funfair for Children in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. The newspaper says the Lagos state government has commenced the construction of 2,200 housing units for police in the state.
Daily Trust reports that President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima will spend N9.36 billion on local and foreign travels as well as refreshments in 2025. The newspaper says the death toll from the Ibadan stampede has hit 40.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Lateef Fagbemi, attorney-general of the federation, has faulted the suspension of local government chairpersons in Edo state. The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of its premium motor spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to N899.50 per litre.
The Guardian reports that spiralling inflation has made many families shelve their plans for the Christmas and New Year celebration. The newspaper says Yakubu Dogara, a former speaker of the house of representatives, has criticised northern leaders for mismanagement of resources.
