Reports on the federal government’s revenue shortfall owing to debt servicing in the first four months of 2022 dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that Nigeria’s economy will witness more setbacks as the federal government revenue is experiencing a major shortfall owing to payment of petrol subsidy and debt servicing. Chris Ngige, minister of labour, said a security report has warned against the planned protest of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the newspaper says.
The Nation says the federal government is considering fresh security measures to end the rising insecurity.
