Newspaper Headlines: EFCC arrests Patricia Etteh, former speaker, over alleged N240m fraud

Reports on the explosion that rocked Sabon Gari area in Kano state dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers. 

The Punch reports that the Christian Association of Nigeria says it will go ahead with its Sunday nationwide protest against the killing of Deborah Emmanuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto. The newspaper says Aisha Buhari, first lady, has asked presidential hopefuls to pick women as their running mate.
The Nation reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the process for its presidential and governorship primaries. The newspaper says the federal government has asked Facebook to stop the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from using its platform to incite violence in Nigeria.
Nigerian Tribune says the southern leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are considering forging a united front to ensure that a southerner becomes the party’s presidential candidate. The newspaper reports that gunmen have threatened to attack 10 LGAs in Anambra.
The Guardian reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Patricia Etteh, former speaker of the house of representatives, over alleged contract fraud. The newspaper says PDP was stopped from using the Eagle Square to hold its presidential primary.
Daily Trust reports that a total of 29 people have died in an auto crash in Kaduna and an explosion in Kano. The newspaper says PDP and APC delegates are raking in millions of naira as hopefuls scout for votes.
