Newspaper Headlines: EFCC quizzes top humanitarian ministry officials over alleged fraud

Reports on the sack of boards and management teams of some banks by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and pending supreme court judgments on election disputes, dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dissolved the boards and managements of Polaris, Union and Keystone Banks. The newspaper says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deepened investigation into the alleged corruption scandal in the humanitarian ministry by interrogating several top civil servants.

 

Daily Trust reports that eleven decomposing corpses of some Fulani persons arrested by soldiers over the Plateau attacks, have been discovered in a forest at Kachia LGA of Kaduna state. The newspaper says Olu Agunloye, former minister of power and steel, has been remanded in Kuje prison over allegations of fraud.

 

The Guardian reports that the supreme court has affirmed the victory of Ahmad Fintiri in the March 2023 governorship election in Adamawa. The newspaper says the federal government disbursed N10 billion to 165 private accounts in 2022.
THISDAY reports that Femi Otedola, the Nigerian entrepreneur, has announced a donation of N1 billion to the Lagos security trust fund. The newspaper says Zenith Bank and Jaiz have denied the arrest of their chief executive officers in relation to the alleged fraud in the ministry of humanitarian affairs.
