The comments of Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, and socio-cultural organisations on the state of the nation dominated the headlines of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has borrowed $2.02 billion from China in six years. The newspaper says telecommunications services may face disruption as workers threaten strike.
Daily Sun reports the comment of Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, that there is a looming break-up of the country, if the current challenges are not addressed. David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, said the state has no land to give herders for ranching, the newspaper says.
