Newspaper Headlines: FG detains 35 suspected ISWAP fighters amid terror alerts

The reports of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, presenting the N1.69 trillion “budget of continuity” to the state house of assembly dominated the front pages of Nigerian dailies.

The Punch says the nationwide flood threatens N1.9 trillion in agricultural schemes funded Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) across the country. The newspaper reports that the federal government has commenced talks with investors on the building of the Calabar to Lagos rail network.
The Nation says political parties are currently in a fix over the call to halt their campaigns amid terror alerts from the US and UK. The newspaper reports that five persons were shot during a protest over the choice of Olalekan Akadiri as the new Akirun of Ikirun in Ifelodun LGA of Osun state.
