Newspaper Headlines: FG, doctors lock horns as no-work-no-pay directive kicks in

The no-work-no-pay directive of the federal government against striking resident doctors dominated the headlines of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the federal government is set to implement the no-work no-pay rule against the striking resident doctors. The newspaper says the federal government has postponed the second batch of vaccination indefinitely.
The Nation says pressure is mounting on Uche Secondus, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to quit his position in the party. The newspaper says south-east governors and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have clashed over the sit-at-home order issued by the group.
Daily Independent says the ban on the sale of dollars to bureaux de change (BDCs) has heaped pressure on the foreign exchange market which may lead to devaluation of the naira. The newspaper reports that northern power brokers in the PDP saved Secondus from removal.
The Guardian says the inability of government ministries, agencies and departments to pay N100 billion outstanding electricity charges is worsening the liquidity crisis in the sector.
