The senate allowing the electronic transmission of results in the electoral act amendment bill and the shutting down of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) hostels over COVID-19 third wave dominated the headlines of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says despite denial, the federal government has earmarked N20 billion for COVID-19 vaccine distribution. The newspaper reports that debt servicing has risen and gulped 72 percent of FG’s revenue.

 

The Guardian reports that the federal government’s projected tax earnings have been undermined by fewer users of Twitter. The newspaper says the senate ordered 59 agencies to return over N300 billion misappropriated funds.

 

The Nation says the supreme court stopped Imo state’s access to 17 oil wells. The newspaper reports that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accused Buhari of intimidating their colleagues.
