Newspaper Headlines: FG, governors reach three-month agreement on LG allocations

Reports on the commissioning of 30 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, and the release of results of the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), permeate the frontpages.

The Punch reports that the federal government and state governors may have agreed to a three-month moratorium on LGA autonomy over concerns that the immediate implementation of the supreme court judgment may affect salary payments and operational viability. The newspaper says independent petroleum marketers in Nigeria are hoping that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery will sell its petrol at N600 or N650/litre when it is finally released to the market.
