Newspaper Headlines: FG loses N3bn revenue over suspended Kaduna-Abuja train service

Reports on Nigeria’s economic situation, especially the decline in government revenue, dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says Nigeria’s oil production dropped by 28 million barrels in seven months, which is threatening the federal government’s N9.37 trillion oil and gas revenue target for the year. The newspaper says Ohanaeze Ndigbo has faulted the federal government’s decision not to intervene in the trial of Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy senate president, in the UK.
The Nation says Usman Baba, inspector-general of police, has raised the alarm over a plot by criminal elements to attack public institutions and structures across the country.
