Reactions on the hike in the price of petrol perfuse the frontpages today.

The Punch reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has demanded the reversal of the hike in petrol price, saying the union was betrayed by President Bola Tinubu. The newspaper says no fewer than 34 Yobe villagers, killed in a Sunday attack by Boko Haram terrorists, were given a mass burial on Tuesday.

Daily Trust reports that NLC and the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have demanded a reversal of the hike in petrol price. The newspaper says Sanusi Garba, chairman of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has charged investors and owners of electricity distribution companies to come up with solutions to fix the sector rather than making excuses.
The Nation reports that Tinubu has said his administration is committed to economic growth through implementation of ongoing reforms. The newspaper says Dangote Refinery has rolled out petrol for distribution to filling stations.
The Guardian reports that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have criticised Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), over a recent threat to governors supporting Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has remained silent on the rumour that the tenure of Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police, has been extended. The newspaper says many Nigerians are furious over the sudden hike in the price of petrol, as filling stations owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited now sell the product above N865 per litre.
