Newspaper Headlines: FG seizes 14 assets linked to DCP Abba Kyari

The controversy over payment of petrol subsidy and Nigeria’s daily petrol consumption dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Nation says Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited said without subsidy, petrol will sell for N462 per litre. The newspaper reports that Usman Baba, inspector-general of police, has told the US government that there is no threat to the 2023 elections.
The Punch says the federal government has uncovered 14 assets, including shopping malls, residential estate, polo playground and landed property linked Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of police. The newspaper reports the NNPC has defended the 68 million litres of petrol daily consumption in Nigeria.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said debt-for-climate projects swap deal will lighten Nigeria’s debt burden, the newspaper reports.
