Newspaper Headlines: FG threatens contempt suit against errant governors over LG autonomy

Reports on the planned presentation of the 2025 budget, and moves by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to phase out permanent voter cards (PVCs), permeate the frontpages. 

The Punch reports that Lateef Fagbemi, attorney-general of the federation, has threatened to file a contempt of court suit against state governors yet to obey the supreme court judgment on LG autonomy. The newspaper says President Bola Tinubu will present the 2025 budget to the national assembly on Tuesday.
Daily Trust reports that INEC is planning to seek legal backing for its results viewing portal (IReV). The newspaper says the national executive council (NEC) will take a decision on governors’ reports on state police.
