Reports on the controversy trailing the recent petrol price hike dominate the frontpages of Nigerian newspapers.
The Punch reports that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has threatened to cease operations nationwide following the high cost of petrol sold to marketers by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited. The newspaper says the court of appeal in Abuja on Thursday affirmed Martin Amaewhule as speaker of the Rivers state house of assembly — a verdict that has made Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state, to head to the supreme court.
