Newspaper Headlines: G5 governors head to UK to decide on preferred presidential candidate

The murder of Bolanle Raheem by a police officer attached to the Lagos state command on Christmas Day dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says at least 6,047 bank verification numbers of customers have been placed under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) watch list for fraudulent transactions. The newspaper reports that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned Nigeria over the dwindling oil revenue.
The Nation says there is disquiet in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the decision of the five aggrieved governors to travel to London to decide on who to back for the 2023 presidential election. The newspaper reports that Nigerians are showing more confidence in domestic stocks as turnover in the stock market has risen to over N2.18 trillion in the past 11 months.
