Newspaper Headlines: Gunmen invade Yobe market, kill seven traders

Reports on the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and Ogoni leaders suffuse the frontpages today. 

 

The Punch reports that the Amotekun corps has mobilised over 2,000 personnel to flush out bandits and other criminals operating in forests in the south-west geopolitical zone. The newspaper says retail outlets owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited have raised the pump price of petrol from N965 to N990 per litre in the federal capital territory (FCT).
THISDAY reports that George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), said over 100 terrorist financiers have been prosecuted and convicted in the last two years. President Tinubu has urged Ogoni leaders to forget historical grievances and work with the federal government, the newspaper says.

 

Daily Trust reports that chief medical directors of university teaching hospitals and federal medical centres have raised the alarm that public facilities are facing threats of becoming empty due to migration of health workers from the country. The newspaper says gunmen invaded a market in Yobe and killed seven traders. 
The Nation reports that Tinubu has approved the establishment of inland dry ports in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, and Moniya, Oyo state. The newspaper says Abubakar Bagudu, minister of budget and economic planning, said the Nigerian economy is on the right track.
