The Nation reports that President Muhammadu Buhari says he daily lives in grief owing to the agony of terrorism. The newspaper says terrorists who kidnapped passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna train have released 11 out of 62 passengers.

 

Daily Trust reports that gunmen who attacked St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo, bought roast corn in the area before attacking the congregation. The newspaper says President Muhammadu Buhari was neutral in the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries.

 

The Tribune reports that the national working committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket may be a hard choice Nigerians have to live with. The paper says Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, said the federal government knows those behind the Owo attack.
The Punch reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, may decide on who to pick as running mate on Tuesday. The newspaper says Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, may go for a northern Muslim as running mate.
