Newspaper Headlines: ICPC tenders nude pictures as evidence in trial of ex-UNICAL dean

Reports on rising kidnapping cases and the swearing in of Usman Ododo as the governor of Kogi state dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that kidnappers have continued to unleash terror on citizens in different parts of the country despite the security arrangement to tackle the issue of ‘abduction for ransom’. The newspaper says food vendors in Lagos have turned to nylon bags following the ban on styrofoam.
The Nation reports that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has tendered 70 nude photos and messages in the trial of Cyril Ndifon, a former dean of the faculty of law at the University of Calabar. The newspaper says many of the political appointees of Yahaya Bello, the immediate past governor of Kogi, have been reappointed into the cabinet of Usman Ododo, the state’s new governor.
The Guardian reports that the frequent visits of President Bola Tinubu to France have raised several talking points. The newspaper says the police command in Ogun has rescued nine kidnap victims in the state.
THISDAY reports that the Nigerian Navy has denied the report accusing Emmanuel Ogalla, chief of naval staff, of allegedly receiving bribes to release several oil tankers impounded for transporting stolen crude oil.
