Newspaper Headlines: IDPs stranded as fire razes 200 houses in Borno camp

The legal battle trailing the naira redesign policy dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has pitted three governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against 14 political parties, which have threatened to boycott the February 25 election, if the CBN extends the deadline. The newspaper says a federal high court sitting in Lagos has ordered the federal government to suspend the planned concession of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The Nation reports that President Muhammadu Buhari said he expected two million votes for Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate, from Katsina during the election. The newspaper says labour leaders have explained why the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) opted for a consensus arrangement in picking its new president.
The Guardian says a high court sitting in the federal capital territory (FCT) has ordered the CBN and commercial banks to go ahead with the full implementation of the naira redesign policy. The newspaper reports that Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been committed to prison for allegedly disobeying a court order.
