Newspaper Headlines: Labour Party to unveil Datti Baba-Ahmed as Obi’s running mate today

The resignation of Boris Johnson as UK prime minister dominated the front pages of Nigerian dailies.

The Punch reports that the federal government has begun uploading the biodata of Kuje prison escapees into the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) database. The newspaper says Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo, has cried out that terrorists are trooping southwards.
The Nation reports that a court in the UK has ruled that the purported ‘kidney donor’ to the daughter of Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy president of the senate, is not a minor. The newspaper says the federal government has declared Monday and Tuesday a public holiday for the Eid El-Kabir celebrations.

Daily Independent reports that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has rejected the  bid to substitute Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta, as his running mate for the 2023 election. The newspaper says a federal high court in Abuja has disqualified Sheriff Oborevwori, governorship candidate of the PDP, in Delta state.
