Reports on the scarcity of naira notes and the political crisis in Rivers, permeate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that shoppers have condemned the worsening naira scarcity, which has prevented them from making purchases ahead of the yuletide celebrations. The newspaper reports that the federal government has spent N375.8bn on electricity subsidy between January and September this year, as power consumers paid a total of N782.6bn for the commodity during the same period.
THISDAY reports that an order of a federal high court allegedly written by Donatus Okorowo, a judge of the court, halting the removal of 27 lawmakers in Rivers state house of assembly, has gone viral. The newspaper says public sector stakeholders told the federal government that changing the ownership of the electricity distribution companies (Discos) will not resolve Nigeria’s power supply problems.
