Newspaper Headlines: Malami approves NDLEA’s request for seizure of DCP Kyari’s assets

Reports on the March 26 national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that APC governors in the south-west have rejected allies of President Muhammadu Buhari for the positions of secretary and vice-chairman of the party. The newspaper says Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, has approved the request by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for the confiscation of the assets of Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of police (DCP).
Daily Independent says weak production and petrol subsidy may erode the gains of rising price in crude oil for Nigeria. The newspaper reports that PDP said hardship may trigger nationwide agitation worse than #EndSARS.

Daily Sun reports that Bukola Saraki, former senate president, said PDP northern presidential hopefuls are ready for a consensus candidate. The newspaper says Bello Matawalle, governor of Zamfara, has begged Nigerians to assist the 70,000 internally displaced persons in the state.
