Newspaper Headlines: Marketers plan petrol import to bridge shortfall from Dangote refinery

Reports on the crisis in the Rivers state house of assembly, and the petrol supply issues between Dangote refinery and oil marketers, dominate the frontpages. 

The Punch reports that oil marketers have said that the volume of petrol produced by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is currently not enough to meet domestic demand. The newspaper says the Martin Amaewhule-led Rivers state house of assembly and the faction loyal to Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state, have again clashed over the recent judgment of the appeal court.
Daily Trust reports that Umar Damagum, the acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been offered an opportunity to step down from his position. The newspaper reports that Muhammad Adam Abbas, coordinator of the Kano Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC), said a recent cholera outbreak has claimed 45 lives across 28 local government areas in the state.
The Guardian reports that many Nigerians have resorted to the beg-borrow-or-steal desperate mode of survival amid the worsening food crisis in the country. The newspaper says Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power, has denied reports of multiple grid collapses, saying the incidents were minor trip offs.
The Nation reports that Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said the Nigerian economy is on an upward swing despite the current difficulties. The newspaper says the Lagos red rail line has commenced commercial operations.
