Newspaper Headlines: Marketers threaten boycott of PH refinery petrol over pricing

The trial of Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi, dominates the frontpages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports oil marketers as saying that the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited must dispense petroleum products from the Port Harcourt refinery below the prices of the Dangote refinery. The newspaper says the federal capital territory (FCT) high court has remanded Bello in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Daily Trust reports that the leadership of the senate on Wednesday brushed aside opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s tax reform bills. The newspaper says the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced the suspension of its foreign scholarships for lecturers of tertiary institutions.
Vanguard reports that the senate will pass the controversial tax reform bills today, exempting those earning below N1 million per annum from income tax. The newspaper says the house of representatives has mandated its committee on power to investigate failure to replace obsolete meters and improve infrastructure by electricity distribution companies. 
The Nation reports that Yakubu Gowon, a former head of state, has urged northern leaders to jettison sectional interests and champion the nation’s collective interest. NNPC has said petroleum products from the Port Harcourt refinery are exclusively for its outlets for now.
