Newspaper Headlines: Nigeria runs out of cholera vaccines as outbreak spreads to 30 states

The national dailies keep tabs on the cholera outbreak in the country and run the rule on preventive measures. 

Punch reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says the country does not have enough vaccines as the death toll from the cholera outbreak hits 40. The newspaper says Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, has removed Eze Awuse as the chairman of the supreme council of traditional rulers.
Daily Trust says the federal government has put up three aircraft in the presidential fleet for sale. The newspaper reports that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has announced the approval of N21 billion for 11 distribution companies (DisCos) to provide meters to customers.
The Nation says Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has assured Nigerians that inflation will subside in the coming months. The newspaper reports that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released a framework to support the bank recapitalisation programme of the CBN.
The Guardian reports that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has announced a spike in cholera in several regions of the world, with almost 195,000 cases and over 1,900 deaths reported in 24 countries since the start of the year. The newspaper says NCDC on Friday reported 6,704 suspected Lassa fever cases and 162 deaths across 125 LGAs in 28 states.
Vanguard says Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, has advised President Bola Tinubu to stop downplaying the hardship currently ravaging Nigerians. The newspaper reports that the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) and over 40 affiliate organisations have threatened to embark on a statewide anti-police protest over the LGA crisis in Rivers.
