Newspaper Headlines: Nigerians in UK protest visa scams, call out 30 suspects

Reports on the local government election in Osun and excerpts from Ibrahim Babangida’s autobiography continue to suffuse the frontpages. 

Punch reports that Nigerians living in the United Kingdom have protested against rising cases of certificate of sponsorship scams in the country. The newspaper says Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) said he is not desperate to secure the 2027 presidential ticket.
Tribune reports that Bode George, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be sanitised. The newspaper says the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) seized over 77 trucks of substandard drugs in Aba, Onitsha, and Idumota.
Vanguard says the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has distanced itself from the party’s south-south zonal congress held on Saturday in Calabar. The newspaper reports that Osun state conducted its LG polls despite the absence of security operatives in polling units.
The Independent says the Middle Belt Youth Forum has lamented the removal of Benue chief judge by state legislators. The newspaper reports that the Inter-Party Affairs Directorate has described the crisis in the Lagos assembly as a matter of grave concern.
