Newspaper Headlines: Nigerians make unfair demands on lawmakers, says Akpabio

Reports on the outcome of the November 11 governorship elections, dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) have kicked against the declaration of Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo, as the winner of the November 11 governorship election in Imo state. The newspaper says Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote group, said his refinery has secured a licence to refine more than 300,000 barrels of Nigerian crude per day and will begin to process gasoline soon.
The Nation reports that the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has adjusted the foreign exchange rate for its tariffs and duties to N783/$. The newspaper says the Oyo State Mineral Development Agency has sealed mining sites operating without consent letters and community development agreement.
Daily Trust reports Senate President Godwin Akpabio as saying that Nigerian legislators are the most misunderstood and attacked among the three arms of government. The newspaper says President Bola Tinubu has promised that he will ensure that the national assembly creates constitutional roles for traditional rulers.
Daily Independent reports that the naira seems to have succumbed to pressure in the foreign exchange market as it depreciated massively against the US dollar after experiencing a rebound for a few days.
