Newspaper Headlines: NLC mobilises workers for strike over proposed petrol price hike

The federal government’s rejection of the travel ban imposed on the country by the UK government appeared on the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the federal government faulted the travel ban imposed on Nigeria by the UK government over the Omicron COVID-19 variant. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said rising food prices fuelling inflation in Nigeria, the newspaper says.
Daily Independent reports that the presidency said insecurity will not stop investors from coming to Nigeria. The newspaper says Ahmad Lawan, senate president, promised the prudent use of COVID-19 funds.
The Nation reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has commenced mobilisation for a strike action, if the federal government increased the price of petrol per litre. The newspaper says President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the military to stay out of politics.
