Newspaper Headlines: NLC threatens nationwide protest over naira scarcity

Reactions to the intervention of President Bola Tinubu in the political crisis in Rivers, suffuse the front pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has warned the federal government that it would embark on mass public protests over scarcity of the naira. The newspaper says Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police, has asked banks to protect their database from hackers.
The Nation says Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, said there is no price too much to pay for peace in the state. The newspaper reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said commercial banks have not been complying with the loan limit rule for single borrowers.
The Guardian reports that basic amenities in many LGAs across the country have remained grossly inefficient despite an increase in earnings. The newspaper says Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti, has asked Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to always tell Tinubu the truth about his policies and programmes.
Daily Trust reports that some senior advocates of Nigeria (SAN) have faulted the intervention of Tinubu in the political crisis in Rivers state. The newspaper says intense lobbying has commenced for the vacant positions of directors in aviation agencies.
