The decision of the board of trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to set up a committee to resolve the party ongoing crisis dominated the headlines of Nigerian newspapers.

Daily Independent says the PDP has enlisted former ministers, governors and ex-governors on a committee to resolve the crisis in the party. The newspaper reports that Kano elders have asked a court to hasten the south-east exit from Nigeria.
The Punch reports that there is relief for Secondus as the party’s board of trustees (BoT) rejected the idea of interim executives. The newspaper says Osagie Ehanire, minister of health, has asked Nigerians to blame states and not the federal government for resident doctors strike.
The Nation says elders in the PDP failed to halt removal of Secondus as a committee was instituted to resolve the party’s crisis. Aminu Masari, governor of Katsina state, said bandits attacked 10 LGAs in his state on a daily basis, the newspaper reports.
THISDAY reports that the governor of Katsina state has appealed to Faruk Yahaya, chief of army staff, to come to his aid as Katsina is under severe bandit attack. The newspaper says Kaduna, Ekiti and five other states will benefit from a $700 million World Bank loan for water projects.
The Guardian says the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is hitting the county harder as 35 corps members in Ogun state and 18 in Niger tested positive. The newspaper reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refunded Nigerians N82 billion for failed bank transactions.
