Newspaper Headlines: PDP NWC divided over calls for Ayu’s resignation

Reports on the review of the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says the national working committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently divided over calls for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman. The newspaper reports that ASUU will, on Monday, decide whether to continue with its ongoing strike.
The Nation says former President Olusegun Obasanjo said he has no special candidate for the 2023 presidential election. The newspaper reports that PDP in Rivers state has backed the position of Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, on calls for resignation of Ayu.
