Newspaper Headlines: Politicians perpetuating themselves in power through children

The victory of Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, at the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

Sunday Punch reports that Atiku Abubakar clinched the PDP presidential ticket. The newspaper says Nigerian politicians are holding onto power by ensuring their children have a shot at elective positions.
The Nation says Salihu Lukman, national vice-chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused Abdullahi Adamu, national chairman of the party, of running the party as a sole administrator.

The newspaper says Citizens Action for Good Governance, a civil society organisation, said the continuous stay of Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will erode investors’ confidence in the country.
THISDAY says the CBN has asked commercial banks to support Nigerian firms to expand their foreign exchange earnings for economic growth. The newspaper reports that Atiku has promised to unite the country, which he said, has been divided by the APC-led administration.
