Newspaper Headlines: Rich Nigerians deposit stashed cash in banks amid naira redesign

Reports on the interim forfeiture of some properties belonging to Ike Ekweremadu, former deputy senate president, dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

Saturday Punch reports that wealthy Nigerians and organisations with huge cash at hand have started depositing them to banks owing to the redesign of the naira notes. The newspaper says the US court will sentence Ramon Abbas, a self-confessed international fraudster, popularly known as Hushpuppi, on Monday.
The Nation says a court has granted the interim forfeiture of 40 landed properties belonging to Ekweremadu over alleged money laundering.
