Newspaper Headlines: Sacked LP chair Julius Abure blames APC for party crisis

The position of the military on talks of an interim government and the Labour Party (LP) crisis dominated the cover pages of most Nigerian dailies.

The Guardian reports the state of disarray at the headquarters of the Labour Party in Abuja, which culminated in the replacement of Julius Abure as party chairperson. The newspaper says the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has accused the federal government of planning to cash in on the $800 million petrol subsidy palliatives.
The Nation reports that a US-based observer mission has explained why Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was elected president. The newspaper reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has informed politicians that there will be no easy route to election victory again.
