Newspaper Headlines: State NLC, TUC ask workers to join two-day warning strike

Reports on the two-day warning strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that there is anxiety as President Bola Tinubu and 25 state governors await the judgments of the tribunals handling the presidential, governorship, national assembly, and state assembly election petitions. The newspaper says some state chapters of the NLC have asked to join the two-day warning strike.
The Guardian reports that cybercriminals have exploited weak regulations to harvest data and defraud Nigerians. The newspaper says the rising cost of living in Nigeria has taken payment of school fees beyond the reach of many parents.
The Nation reports that senior workers of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) will not join the two-day warning strike declared by the NLC. The newspaper says the federal government has asked illegal miners to vacate sites within 30 days.
THISDAY reports Garba Shehu, ex-spokesperson to former President Muhammadu Buhari, as saying that his principal saved Nigeria from corrupt elements planted to expose the country’s economy to collapse. The newspaper says a total of $17.18 billion was attracted into the Nigerian economy in the first quarter of the year.
Nigerian Tribune reports that the federal government is targeting N20 trillion from tax revenues. The newspaper says residents of 15 LGAs and 224 communities in Niger state have been affected by flood.
