Newspaper Headlines: Telcos to begin disconnection of unlinked phone lines as NIN-SIM deadline ends

Reports on the disagreement between Dangote Petroleum Refinery and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) over the pricing of petrol permeate the frontpages today. 

The Punch reports that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and the NNPC have offered divergent views over the price of petrol produced by the refinery. The newspaper says leaders from the Ogoni and Oyigbo zones in Rivers are seeking a replacement for Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Vanguard reports that the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has released names and pictures of inmates missing from the Maiduguri correctional centre after the flood disaster. The newspaper says the federal government has delivered 1,200 vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to five states.
The Guardian reports that telecommunication firms are awaiting the directive of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to block all unlinked SIM cards after the deadline for linking telephone lines with national identification numbers (NINs) elapsed on Saturday. The newspaper says the Edo state government has alleged that there are plans to withdraw the security personnel of Godwin Obaseki, governor of the state.
THISDAY reports that the federal government said the lifting of petrol from Dangote Petrochemical Refinery marks the return of industrialisation in the country. The newspaper says President Bola Tinubu is back to Nigeria after trips to China and the UK.
