Newspaper Headlines: Tinubu set to name envoys as ministry posts consular officers

Pictures of Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo, receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), dominate the cover pages of the newspapers. 

The Punch says President Bola Tinubu is set to name ambassadors and envoys as the foreign ministry begins postings to consular offices. The newspaper reports that the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has ordered the Police Service Commission (PSC) to issue employment letters to over 22,000 police constabularies nationwide.
The Nation reports that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has blamed northern leaders for the region’s woes. The newspaper says the senate has challenged the military to step up its fight against the Lakurawa terrorist group.

Vanguard says an investigation committee set up by the Jigawa government released a report stating that 209 people died and 68 people were hospitalised in the tanker explosion in the state in October. The newspaper reports that members of the house of representatives have demanded a N500 billion capital base from electricity distribution companies.
